Sewing up the Jacob’s Ladder Quilt Block for Month 2 of the Spring Dreams Block of the Month by Missouri Star Quilt Company! Such a fun and stitch at your own pace project!

Spring Dreams Block of the Month by Missouri Star Quilt Company
What is the Spring Dreams Block of the Month?
This BOM (Block of the Month) is a guided nine-month quilt program by Missouri Star Quilt Company (MSQC) for 2026. When you purchase the Spring Dreams BOM from MSQC, you’ll receive a quilt block kit each month. Each kit will include fabrics from the Shadow Play collection by Maywood Studio. Finished instructions, border, and binding fabrics included with the final block in the last month. Backing sold separately.
Medallion Block – Month 1
For month 1 of the Spring Dreams BOM, I sewed the center blocks of the quilt. I don’t know if this block has a name, but MSQC refers to it as the Medallion Block. You read more about the Medallion Block HERE.
For month 1, we made four blocks. Once we stitch all the blocks together in month 9, these blocks will comprise the center of the quilt.

Jacob’s Ladder Block – Month 2
And now, I’ve just completed my month two blocks for the Spring Dreams BOM. I actually made eight of the Jacob’s Ladder Blocks. I’m discovering that each month’s blocks are actually a skill building opportunity.

This was a fun set of blocks to make. You’re basically making five four-patch squares and four half square triangles.
Video Tutorial
Missouri Star has put together a video tutorial to accompany each month’s quilt blocks. You can find all the video tutorials on their YouTube channel!
