September Sewalong Week One: Gather Supplies and Tools
You can learn all about the September Sewalong and even sign up to join the sewing fun HERE.
For Week One (September 15-21, 2025) of the sewalong, the task is to gather the supplies and tools needed to complete each of the free sewing patterns.
But first, let me remind you of the three projects we’ll be sewing together in the September Sewalong:
- Pattern One: Cora Book Sleeve
- Pattern Two: Pearl Tote Bag
- Pattern Three: Patchwork Christmas Stocking
Supplies Needed
IF you signed up for the September Sewalong, you should have received an email from Hooked on Sewing with a complete supply and tool list. Each pattern will also include specific supplies/tools needed for that project.

Tools Needed
- scissors
- rotary cutter
- self-healing cutting mat
- acrylic ruler
- Wonder clips and/or pins
- fabric marking pen (I use Frixion)
- OR hera marker
- iron and ironing surface
- sewing machine (I use this and this)
- 90/14 sewing machine needle
- walking foot (optional)

Like I said, if you signed up for the sewalong, you should have received the Supplies and Tools List via email. If you can’t find, accidentally deleted, or for some other reason would like a copy of the supplies list, there are two ways you can get a copy!
- Join the Sewalong Facebook Group – As a member of the Sewalong Facebook Group by Hooked on Sewing, you’ll find all the patterns, calendar, and supplies list in the Files section of the Group.
- Complete the below form – If you don’t want to join the Facebook Group, you can simply complete the below form and I will send the Supplies List to you via email.
I hope you will join me in the September Sewalong. It’s a great opportunity especially for beginner sewists to learn how to up their sewing skills and to do so with a supportive community.
