Happy Memorial Day!

Did you know that Memorial Day was originally known as "Decoration Day?" After the Civil War, citizens would decorate the graves of fallen soldiers with flowers and flags. It was officially recognized as a national holiday in 1971. It is a day set aside to remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for me and you and our country.

My heart truly breaks for the family members. And to say I'm grateful for their loved ones service, is quite an understatement.

We have two sons who have or are serving in the US Army. And one daughter who served in the US Navy. So the veterans have a special place in our hearts. Our son, who we lost in October 2025 to an accident (not related to the military), served as a Combat Medic in the Army. He was grateful for the opportunity to serve his country.

It may seem like a very small milestone, but I genuinely appreciate each and every follower.

I have a true passion for teaching people how to sew. I have basically been sewing my entire life.

I especially enjoy helping beginners and "returners". You know, people who maybe sewed years ago, but life got in the way or they became too frustrated and are now at a place in their life where they're ready to try again.

I like to think of it as an appreciation for the finer things in life. An appreciation for taking things slower and truly being present in the moment. Isn't that something we all long for?

Thank you for helping me to reach and encourage people just like you!
